My fashion client- A Contemporary fashion brand is looking for a Direct Hire- Knits and Sweater Designer based in Chatsworth. Please review the below and let me know if this is something that would work for you for a couple months!

Pay $70K- $80K- Flex to higher for someone with more experience (based on experience)

Onsite- Chatsworth, CA (some flex to potentially 1 day onsite or right candidate after training)- flexible hours

 Potential Duties/Responsibilities: Assistance with the Head Designers in executing all aspects of product & design through tech pack development. Support in all technical design functions relating to achieving proper garment fit. Ability to have a technical understanding of body, ease, fit, fabric & trims. Responsible in the assistance of leading fittings with live models by taking detailed notes & experience in sweater knits/crochets and knits communicating with clear fit comments & photos. Responsible for managing all photo libraries from fittings, T.O.P. approvals & reorders. Able to assemble tech packs with detailed sketches, illustrations & construction detailed through the usage of a PLM software system. Able to analyze garments to determine the appropriate compliance of comments, specs, construction & sketches to provide to factories. Able to identify potential product & quality issues while able to make the appropriate recommendations with the design & production teams in advance. Ensuring all garments are at high quality and conform to company standards and brand values. Collaborate with vendors, the production team & factories to meet all calendar deadlines. Assistance in managing photo libraries of working samples. Assistance in updating data entry reports & documents via the PLM platform.


Requirements: A.A., A.S., bachelor’s degree(s) and/or related to Fashion Design, Merchandising, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or anything equivalent. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, CAD, and Adobe Illustrator - willingness to learning new software is also essential. Beginning experience PLM software training (Product Lifecycle Management) is a plus. The ability to justify design changes. Ability to follow direction well but also able to work with little to no supervision. Strong verbal & written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Well-organized with a heavy sense of urgency. Positive attitude and the willingness to learn. Ability to work under pressure with deadlines. Detail-oriented with strong follow-through of communication and execution of projects. 5 years+ experience.

Sweater and Knits Experience Required- A plus if they have Crochet Experience
